Data from the Rewire Security shows us that in the last year alone, over 15,000 scooterse, motorcycles and mopeds were stolen in England, the number equals to 50% of all vehicles stolen in London, which is a 30% increase from the previous year!
The report by NCIS continues to explain how you can reduce the chance of theft and improve your scooter security with the following recommendations:
Improve moped security
- Buy additional security locks and remote alarms.
- Try and park in Motorcycle designated areas where ground anchors are found. Although there are not a large number of these areas, they are more secure and growing in number.
- If possible install a ground anchor at your home address and always keep the bike out of site.
